COUNSELORS & General Staff Requisites:
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be extremely energetic, outgoing, fun & enthusiastic

• Must be innovative, creative and flexible
• Must be dependable and responsible
• Camp experience as a camper or a counselor preferred
• Specialty skills are desirable (i.e. surfing, dance, gymnastics, sports, drama, story telling, etc.)
• Counselor pay ranges from $10 – 15/hour depending on experience and qualifications.


ASSISTANT DIRECTORS (Pacific Palisades only):
• Prefer past camp director experience
• Must be organized, reliable and flexible
• Must be a people person with excellent communication skills
• Job includes assisting owner/director with program set-up and implementation
• Will work alongside owner/director supervising staff in daily camp activities
• The ability to professionally interact with staff, campers & parents is an absolute requirement.
• Assistant Director pay ranges from $16 – 20/hour depending on experience and qualifications.


DIRECTORS (Malibu, Santa Monica, South Bay):
• Prefer past camp director experience
• Must be organized, reliable and flexible
• Must have prior management experience

• Job includes directing every aspect of daily camp operations including set up, implementation, staff supervision, etc.
• The ability to professionally interact with staff, campers & parents is an absolute requirement.
• Director pay ranges from $20 - 25/hour depending on experience and qualifications.


CAMP MCs:
• Must have prior camp experience as a camper or counselor
• Will be the “voice” of Fitness by the Sea to the campers
• Must be able to lead entire camp in songs, skits, presentations, etc. and be able to control a crowd
• Must be familiar with “camp lingo” and be able to maintain the camp feel throughout the day
• MC pay ranges from $10 – 15/hour depending on experience and qualifications.


ARTS & CRAFTS SPECIALISTS:
• Must be very creative & innovative
• Must be able to plan, schedule, and teach a wide assortment of arts & crafts activities
• Will be responsible for implementing existing arts & crafts projects and coming up with new and fresh ideas
• Must be a team player and able lead both counselors and kids in activities
• Must be organized and efficient
• Arts & Crafts Specialist pay ranges from $14 – 16/hour depending on experience and qualifications.


Daily Camp Activities Include:
• Water activities (surfing, boogie boarding, swimming)
• Team Sports (soccer, volleyball, capture the flag, dodge ball, flag football…etc.)
• Individual Activities (gymnastics, cheerleading, boxing, dance, obstacle course…etc.)

POSITION SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, the Human Resources Associate assists in all matters pertaining to Human Resources. This includes recruitment, policy development, compensation, EEO compliance, training and development and the administration of benefit programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment, long-term disability, employee assistance program and 401(k) pension for Ballet employees. Provides support to employees on any insurance claim/issues. The Human Resources Associate works closely with the Human Resources Manager to ensure SF Ballet makes a concerted effort to create a work environment that imbues the core values and that employees can contribute their best efforts to SFB.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducts employee orientations. Enroll new employees, keep data current and remove terminating employees from benefit programs to ensure proper coverage. Communicates with vendor to ensure legal COBRA compliance. Assists in the coordination of annual open enrollment for benefit programs. Maintains benefit files and spreadsheets. Review vendor bills.

• Ensures good communication and assistance as needed with payroll, accounting and other departments. Prepares reports, collate survey data as necessary. Responds to employment verification as appropriate. Maintains files, keeps office and HR Manager organized.

• Assists in recruitment processes. Coordinates the overall supervision of the Snaphire recruitment software. Trains and answers hiring managers’ questions on use of Snaphire. Conducts new employee orientations for non exempt employees.

• Coordinates employee events, including the annual holiday party and monthly birthday celebrations. Assist in coordinating annual volunteer appreciation events.

• Assists in the timely and accurate communication with employees. Distributes communications both internally and via US mail. Schedules volunteers as needed.

• Assists the HR Manager in all matters related to appointments, scheduling and correspondence. Answer telephone and respond to staff, schedule appointments, take messages, and performs other duties as assigned.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• BA/BS degree or equivalent
• Some human resource, finance and/or accounting courses preferred.
• 1-2 years related experience (preferred). Interest in and knowledge of performing arts (preferred)

Ability to:

• Effectively communicate and distribute applicable information to eligible employees on SFBA benefits programs. Assist new employees to successfully complete the enrollment process within 10 days of hire.

• Effectively manage benefit enrollment process. Regularly communicate with vendors to ensure proper and accurate benefit coverage of employees.

• Effectively work with Accounting Staff in tracking benefit participants and communicate regularly with Payroll to ensure proper insurance premium payments.

• Produce complete and accurate spreadsheets, correspondence and reports in a timely manner.

• Prioritize work to effectively balance multiple assignments and demonstrate commitment to employee service.

• Effectively and accurately review, edit and proof own work using contemporary business grammar, punctuation and spelling rules to ensure consistency and clarity.

• Maintain organized, accurate and legible files and paperwork to meet department standards.

• Demonstrate sound project management skills, including the ability to organize and manage multiple projects to meet required deadlines.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Director is accountable for all stage systems, production personnel and activities, and production-related finances.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees production manager, stage managers, lighting supervisor, and stage personnel, equipment, and systems, including scenic, carpentry, props, wig, make-up, and costume, lighting, and sound.

• Provides complete personal oversight of all stage personnel, stage managers, and stage activity, with a presence onstage or in the auditorium, at every rehearsal and performance in the opera house.

• Works with San Francisco Opera and the War Memorial Performing Arts Center to coordinate ownership and maintenance of all infrastructure systems owned or operated jointly.

• Assumes full accountability for balanced budgets of all production budgets, including full-length ballets, new ballets, and all parts of any other budgets relating to production. Day-to-day financial transactions are executed by the Production Manager. Supports other departments with production related finances.

• Oversees payroll, prepared by Production Manager, for all production union groups and submits it to finance weekly.

• Prepares and maintains all production bibles that contain all relevant technical information, cueing sheets, special equipment, hanging plots, lighting plots, costume lists, props lists, and photographs of each repertory production.

• Provides Company Manager and other staff with accurate and timely information and budgets for all stage personnel and technical requirements for all tours and on and off site activities. Handles all shipping/freight requirements and paperwork around touring.

• Prepares all scenic designs and plots, and makes working drawings of any renderings. Works with Production Manager, who supervises all bidding and monitoring of new design builds for both scenery and costumes.

• Coordinates with Artistic Director and Production Manager the renting of productions to or from other companies, maintaining complete and accurate records of all rental agreements.

• Assists the General Manager in preparation of all IATSE Collective Bargaining Agreements, and is responsible for building any financial models required by the GM for such talks.

• Performs any other duties requested by the Artistic Director or General Manager. Coordinates all activities with Production Manager so that duplication of skills is ensured.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree with Theater/Business emphasis.
• 5 – 15 years similar management experience for a similar sized organization.

Professional/Technical Competencies:

• Expert knowledge and oversight of all stage systems, equipment, and roles.

• Significant experience with international touring to major venues and interaction with other venues’ personnel and unions.

• Expert management of timely and detailed multi-million dollar budgets, and comfort with assumption of accountability for building and managing to balanced budgets that include significant assumed variability.

• Administration of payroll for stage and shop personnel, reviewing documents for accuracy and submitting them on time to Finance Department.

• Experience maintaining complete and current records with up-to-date knowledge of drafting, excel, and other applicable computer programs.

• Experience managing numerous IATSE Collective Bargaining Agreements, and an understanding of AGMA and AFM agreements as they relate to stage activities and schedules.

• Excellent communication skills, with all constituent groups and upper management.

• Ability to multi-task, make decisions quickly, and work long hours with a positive attitude.

• Comfort with change, and ability to adapt quickly to new ways of working within the existing Ballet structure. Ability to respond positively to changing organizational needs.

The Stanford Prevention Research Center at Stanford University seeks part time Dance Instructors for ECHALE, a community based diabetes and obesity prevention study for preadolescent girls in Redwood City. Children's dance exercise instructor - after school

Heartlight Aerobics is a “focus on fun” after school dance exercise program for girls and boys in elementary schools. Heartlight is looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals who are role models for health and fitness. Heartlight will train you to teach jazz, hip hop, and aerobic dance routines to children. Heartlight operates classes in ~ 100 schools in and around San Diego. The girls and boys in Heartlight will be dancing in the big youth fitness expo in Balboa Park on March 15th, 2008.

Here’s what you need:
1. Experience working with groups of children. You must have a fun and larger than life presence so the children will have fun in your class and recognize you as a strong leader.

2. Availability: Heartlight classes are held as soon as school dismisses. The times of the classes vary depending on the school and the day. If our and your schedule allows, you will teach 2 classes per day. Classes are one hour long and begin approximately between 1:00 and 3:00. You should be available most days of the week (M-F) so that your practice time learning the routines will be most worthwhile. Most instructors teach 5-8 classes per week.

3. Transportation: You must have reliable transportation. In most cases you will be the only Heartlight teacher in the class. The children, school and Heartlight will be depending on you to arrive on time to each class.

4. Reliability: You must have excellent references who will confirm you are a reliable on-time responsible person. The children, school and Heartlight will be depending on you to arrive on time to each class. An FBI background clearance will be required if hired.

Here’s what Heartlight will provide:
1. Training.
Three training workshops are held prior to each session. At the workshop you will be dancing with other instructors to learn the routines. All Heartlight classes are standardized; we all use the same choreography and the same music. You are not charged (or paid) for attending the training clinics. NOTE: our first clinic for next session is JANUARY 9TH 2:30-5:00.

2. On the job training and supervision: One of your classes will be a training class with an experienced instructor. You are paid for your training class upon completion of the entire session.

3. Classes:
5-8 (or more) classes per week.

4. Materials: CD, cue sheets, t-shirt, training manual

5. Payscale: $15 - $30 per class. Wage per class depends on your experience with Heartlight and the number of students in your class.
