The Minnesota Shubert Center and Zenon Dance Company Present

Men In Motion: A Dance Journey

What Really Goes On Backstage


MINNEAPOLIS, (March, 2008) – The Minnesota Shubert Performing Arts and Education Center is taking audiences “behind the curtain” beginning Monday March 24 through April 18 with its online, Follow the Creative Process Program, Men In Motion: A Dance Journey. In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, Zenon Dance Company is commissioning New York choreographer Seán Curran to create a modern dance for the male dancers of Zenon. The Minnesota Shubert Center will be there from the first rehearsal to the final performance, revealing what it really takes to develop a new performance.

Video interviews, demonstrations, photos and interactive technology, allow viewers to observe the creative process as if they were on the creative team. Every Monday and Wednesday, viewers will hear from Artistic Director Linda Andrews, Choreographer Seán Curran, the lighting designer and costume designer by logging on to the program website MEN IN MOTIONafter Monday, March 24.



On Fridays, viewers get to peek into the studio where they will see the ups and downs as the dancers and choreographer rehearse. All interviews will also address the life of these careers addressing universal challenges, advice and gives a clear picture of the world in which dancers live.



An Ask the Artist feature allows participants to ask questions online and have them answered directly by the artistic team. All program content is FREE to the general public by logging on MEN IN MOTION after Monday, March 24.

People from all over the world will participate. I’ve always felt that teaching is such an important part of being an artist and to me, Men In Motion is art doing its job.”
