Savion Glover
A world renowned tap dancer and choreographer who made his film debut in 1989's Tap co-starring with Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Junior. Glover has also produced and directed many Broadway productions such as The Tap Dance Kid, Black and Blue, and Jelly's Last Jam.
In 1990 he choreographed and starred in the well known smash hit musical Bring in 'da Noise/Bring in 'da Funk. Glover brought home a Tony award for this famed and original production for “choreographer of the year”. The production covered every major era in African-American history with magnificent tap numbers that brought down the house nightly.
He later landed the leading role in Spike Lee's film Bamboozled and choreographed a commercial for Nike which had an extended version that aired on MTV. In February, he performed at the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics.
Savion currently teaches at “The Broadway Dance Center” in New York and dedicates much of his time to teaching kids to dance. His trademark hoofing, a gritty, harder-hitting form of tap, has changed the landscape of tap forever.
